BEWARE THE MOON REVIEWS
I love this English weather we are having, nice and sunny and hot, but it's a butt ache for us horror fans too. I CAN'T SEE A DAMN THING ON THE TV. Damn TV being so reflective. Makes me look so unsociable with all the blinds closed - just FYI, I love my TV even though it's super reflective...
On to the film; Charlie's Farm! "In an effort to do something different, four friends head into Australia's outback to explore Charlie's Farm, the site where a violent family met their end at the hands of an angry mob. Despite all warnings, they persist in their horror-seeking adventure."
Charlie's Farm is exactly what you think it will be, just watch the trailer or read a bit about it and you will know. I heard about this film years and years ago, and I was into it from the start and wanted to see it. It just looked like one of those films that is so simple, and so easy to watch and pretty damn predictable, but is in no ways a horrible film to watch at all.
Charlie's Farm is a great little film for when you want something simple, if you want twists, keep scrolling, this film is not for you...
Charlie's Farm is an entertaining film, but mainly due to the gore - the storyline and characters don't really have much to stand on, the characters are pretty much any characters you'd find in horror films. The storyline isn't awful but it's nothing original, still fun though, but the gore takes it way up. The gore in this film is pretty damn great, there aren't a lot of deaths due to not being that many characters, (four main ones, and then flashbacks), but when there is a death, it delivers. Like a take away delivery person when you are starving, it's like God's gift.
Some of the deaths in this are actually genius, without spoiling anything, I shall just say....penis. If you've seen it, you knowwwwww. Lots of blood and guts is always good in my books, maybe more could have been better but hey, I was still happy.
Charlie's Farm is one of those films where you get exactly what you imagine you will be getting, easy to follow story, angry scary killer, great and bloody deaths and just something you can watch with your brain sitting next to you. Maybe don't do that...
I enjoyed it, and anyone who likes slasher films, you're in for a treat!
And FYI, Charlie is actually pretty creepy. Well done to the FX team!
Watching horror films since like 2003, when I could stand dead bodies..
