BEWARE THE MOON REVIEWS
![]() I found this film on a list of unknown movies or something along those lines, and liked the idea of it so I found it on Youtube and went for it; "Chad and Scarlet leave their old life and horrifying secrets behind in search of a fresh start. But when a near-fatal car accident leaves them stranded in the middle of nowhere, they turn to a mysterious farm couple for shelter." Oooooo, this is a tricky one to review, I like about 60% of the film and kind of hate the rest... Let me explain. I liked the story, it's not the most original but it's a good one. The whole 'stranded and finding so called 'friendly helpful' people that take them in and try and help, only for things to go wrong' story. The couple crash their car, ironically in that cliche way of crashing when they look away for way more than you should, but yet, still remain on the road and only crash when they look back and something gets in the way. Look away in real life while you'll driving, and you'll start heading off in that direction and into the nearest bush - one life fact that no one in films seem to realise. They also go to the first house they see, one in the middle of nowhere - horror films have put me off houses that are in the middle of nowhere, due to lots of people dying and such in them... lessons learnt from horror films, right there. The story follows a lot of cliche throughout it, right up until the end... ![]() The couple are kind of tortured and it does turn into a little bit of cat and mouse between and the seemingly nice home owners, which I love. When films have the whole "Chase me, chase me" but less Carry On and more SAW - I'm in. The whole film is pretty much that, it never really stops chasing and it's good, even though it does feel a little slow. It does feel slow in some parts, even though they are being chased, you go from a torture scene, great, to then just people hiding in the dark for a good few minutes. The parts that picked up weren't too bad, and it was fun, but it did just feel like it was missing something - what it was missing though, was definitely not the ending... THE ENDING. THAT ENDING, MAN. I won't actually say what happens in the end as I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but it's just awful. It comes out of nowhere, it's badly done and it really could have been done better. Like lots better. One part of the ending I did like though, was why it all happened, which links it all - something the couple did basically is the reason everything in this film happened. I liked that the couple who torture them are linked to them even before meeting them and that everything is kind of set up - even though it seems pretty impossible, being that they crash... But then the full ending happens. I was so damn lost as it comes so damn out of nowhere and for no reason. That part is crap, so so crap. And then there is a little scene after that is very dark and explains what they did, and I liked that. Just that one part of the ending really did ruin it. Farmhouse is a bit like a toned down rollercoaster really, you watch it and it is fairly entertaining, but you wouldn't scream over it. It's a good one to pass the time, would be even better without that bit of the ending, but hey, it's done now. The rest isn't awful, just kind of fun...
