BEWARE THE MOON REVIEWS
I had heard about this film a fair bit before watching it, not that it was good or bad, just that it was there and what it was about. Simple. "Gary, who has just married Samantha, the woman of his dreams, discovers that her six-year-old son may be the Antichrist.".
This film pretty much reminds me of a better version of all those Scary Movie knock offs, that tried to be Scary Movie but just didn't really do a good job. The films like Meet the Spartans and Vampires Suck. This is pretty much a comedy/knock off version of The Omen, but it's better than those Meet The Spartans, much better actually. I have to say though, I don't feel it's better than the Scary Movies...
Little Evil is entertaining and it gives some good nods to The Omen and films along those line, nice little fun nods, but I wasn't blown away by it.
Little Evil is charming, it's got good characters, (the dad is very loveable and so are his friends at his AA semi class, wasn't that keen on the wife though...), it's got a fair bit of humour in it, even humour around the unfortunate death of a teacher, and it's simple and easy to watch. It doesn't really have a hard to follow story line, and you pretty much know what is coming, especially if you have seen The Omen - that is a massive hint to what most of this film is about.
The ending is also kind of very cute. I am not a kid fan, at all, especially ones that could very easily kill me with one look, but I have to say, I do warm to Lucas by the end of it. Only right at the end though, for the rest of it, I didn't like Lucas as much as I like those horrible children off Supernanny... Actually, they should have called Supernanny...
The ending would pretty much be the definition of 'warm and fuzzy' in the dictionary... not that I am going to mention the ending, because I do not spoil - just niceeeeeee.
Little Evil didn't blow me away in anyway, but it's still fun and a nice entertaining movie, with good characters and actors. I probably wouldn't watch it in a hurry again, but that in no way means it is a bad film!
Watching horror films since like 2003, when I could stand dead bodies..
