BEWARE THE MOON REVIEWS
![]() Guess what?! I got new wireless headphones for the gym, ones that cut out most of the sound around me so I can now hear the horror films I am watching while there! Great news, right?! I also secretly got them because I was fearful for my phones life. On numerous occasions I would catch the wire leading from my headphones to my phone and the phone would go flying and the headphones would rip out of my ears - literally as dramatic as I made it sound... I chose to watch Murder Party originally as it seemed to have a simple story line to it, and at that point, I needed subtitles, so I wanted simple in case I missed anything. I have to admit, I couldn't get into it at first, I just didn't really like the feel to it, so at that moment in time, I changed film. I always make an effort to try and go back to a film if I am not feeling it to start with, just FYI, so I had planned to go back. Other people mentioning it on twitter made me go back to it sooner... A thread on Twitter was asking for people to note down gems of horror films that not everyone would know, and low and behold, Murder Party appeared, not once, but numerous times to be fair. I had to go back, and I did. "A man gets a random invitation to a Halloween party, and when he arrives he finds he's the guest of honour at his very own gut-wrenching murder." ![]() I have to say, Murder Party wasn't a stand out film for me, it definitely has it good parts, but also its bad parts, and I also still wasn't all into it, even right at the end I feel. I liked the idea of the story, and I loved the gore, I am not even going to go down the route of "it's good for the budget", this gore is good for any budget. And me being an FX makeup fan, so much inspiration came from it. Someone falls and hits their head and they end up with a damn nice looking hole in the head. I also had the fun time of watching one of the final acts of the scene while on the cross fit trainer in a fairly crowded gym - guess what happens when you do that? You catch someone trying to see what you're watching right at the moment a chainsaw is slicing a persons face into two, such fun. Serves the person right for being nosey, I would have happily have told them all about it had they asked... Even though I am not a fan of talking to people while working out... I am going off subject again, the main thing I want to say here, is that I loved the gore in Murder Party. It was just very over the top but actually pretty realistic looking, just the way I like it.. (Even though I like pretty much any gore...). Murder Party definitely gives you some interestinggggggg characters, like super damn weird ones, but then again, I thought it was weird when Christopher turned up at the party and hadn't even told anyone where he was going - who does that?! And who goes to a random party anyway, the invite just shows up and no one you know had done it, but you go anyway?! Nooooooo. I did like the dog though, that was a cute dog...
I did get confused at the end though, with something to do with fires and burns, but I don't want to spoil anything, so that's all I am saying. Overall, Murder Party was not the gem I had heard about and I wouldn't jump to watch it again, but it passed the time while I was at the gym, so I am happy.
