BEWARE THE MOON REVIEWS
![]() Okay, so technically this is a crime/thriller, and not really a horror, but it has some horror elements, such as storms, violence and a scary villain, and Idris Elba, so I am allowing it. 'An unstable escaped convict terrorizes a woman who is alone with her two children.' I am also allowing it because I have only just watched it so it is clear in my mind, unlike anything else in my mind. ![]() One Good Deed is okay, it's a film I chose to have in the background and for the whole film, apart from the end, you could pretty much have it on in the background -it's that easy to follow. She lets the handsome stranger in, very handsome at that, and bam, he turns out to be evil, which, as an audience member, you already knew. I don't want to make this whole review into an Idris Elba Appreciation review, but I can't help it, I have to get it out... He's very very handsome, and I have heard a lovely man in person. In this, he is still very very handsome, and he wears those lovely man shirts that are long sleeved and cling to the arms and chest, just lovely, really. And he came in from the rain, and started as a very nice man, quite flirty too, which is always a good thing, until he turns into a complete knob that is... ![]() I'll stop now, and get back to the film... One Good Deed is predictable, very very predictable at that. You can pretty much see and guess how this film is going, from when the handsome stranger breaks out of prison and knocks on the door. To when he is let in and starts killing, and tracking them down. You see it all coming, it's not an original story at all, apart from the end, there is a little teeny twist in it, that is actually kind of good. I won't ruin it, but it is actually quite clever, unlike some of the people in this film... I mean, c'mon, the policeman knew something was wrong, why did he not call anyone straight away?! And when Idris Elba had the gun, and she was out the car with the kids in the car, why didn't she jump in the car and escape?! All these questions... Just silly characters who have never seen horror films, really. One Good Deed is an okay film, nothing special but it's fairly entertaining, like you'll watch it but sometimes not really take in what is going on, but you'll look back, and realise you haven't really missed much. If you want something to watch that you don't really have to pay attention to, try One Good Deed, even if it is just to perve at Idris Elba...
