BEWARE THE MOON REVIEWS
Guysssssss. Guess what?! I found a film that I liked the concept of, and that actually was good! The Bar was great! "In bustling downtown Madrid, a loud gunshot and two mysterious deaths trap a motley assortment of common urbanites in a decrepit central bar, while paranoia and suspicion force the terrified regulars to turn on each other." The Bar is so so good, like to the point that in the intro to Stranger Things 2 last night, I told my dad how I had just watched this really good film, and then the intro had to be paused because I had so much to say about it.
The Bar is so underrated, like so so underrated, it needs more love - in the worlds defence, it has only just been put on Netflix, and it was only released this year - so I shall be nice and let the world off for not seeing it. It even starts well, it is shot well, each character is followed showing their day to day at that time, but it cuts between each one in such a smart and sly way until each person makes it to the bar. Each person has a different story too, one lady is going to a first date but is lost, a few people work at the bar, some were passing by, the normal, oh and a homeless man that is a regular. A lot of different characters to say the least.
Anyhoo, people are in this bar, doing the day to day life, until one guy walks out and gets shot, literally out of nowhere he gets shot straight in the head. That is some scary stuff right there, terrifying actually. Well, one guy runs out to help him, and he also gets shot, like it gets super scary - especially with the recent news around the world, this damn scary world.
From there it all gets really interesting, and by that I mean more than just you paying more to it all, I mean, your brain goes into over time as you try and work it all out.
Honestly, The Bar is such a good film, but I really am not sure what are spoilers and what can and can't be mentioned about the film, like I am kind of stuck if I am honest... When the people get shot, and everyone inside the bar start turning on each other, (which is always great in films, I must say), it then gets really weird, like things start happening and the blame starts being put on people.
I am really not sure if the things that happens are spoilers though! This is a film where it twists and turns and you have no idea what is going on at some points, and then you get it and you're on the edge of your seat. It's pretty much like a nice rollercoaster, I say nice, because I am not a fan of them, but I loved this film.
I really really do not know what is a spoiler and what isn't in this film, so, as much as it kills me because I just want to talk about it moreeeeeee, but I won't, I don't want to give any of the film away. It just has so many twists and moments that make you wonder what is going on, and I really would not want to ruin them for anyone.
So, I am going to end this here and just basically say you need to see this film, it's so sadly underrated and it should be seen more. So go, do it! Netflix but don't chill to this film, because you need to watch it and not have sexy time and miss it...
Watching horror films since like 2003, when I could stand dead bodies..
