BEWARE THE MOON REVIEWS
![]() HOLY SHIT BALLS. It took me a few months, and a hard time skipping over any spoilers, but I did it, I made it this far, spoiler free, and I have finally watched Us! "A family's serene beach vacation turns to chaos when their doppelgängers appear and begin to terrorize them." I have to say, as much as I hate expecting anything as it can easily lead to fails, I expect a lot when something is horror related and the master, Jordan Peele's name to it. Because, let's be fair, Get Out set the bar high, followed by a pretty damn good take on The Twilight Zone and the trailer to Us did not disappoint. I was hooked. I started watching this when it was dark and I was home alone, which is a very normal thing for me to do, I tend to watch them before bed... But I have to say, Us was doing a great job of creeping me out. Us does not go just on jump scares, there are a few, none cheap, but it mainly scares you just with tension and also the tethered, as they are called. They are so damn creepy. You look at them, and they look different, yet, the same, and I just couldn't work out why they looked so frightening. The fact that they don't talk, and just like to stand and watch, nahhhhhh. And the other fact that they are pretty much you, and know you and what your next move is. Us shows this so well, due to the fact the doppelgangers show little parts of the actual persons personality, but in a super dark way. Good luck trying to fight them... Really makes you think, doesn't it? Just how creepy and weird would mine be, as me normal likes to watch horror films like a bedtime story... ![]() I went months without hearing any spoilers about this film, and so I am most certainly not spoiling it for anyone else, that means, I won't be mentioning the twist or any spoilers or anything close to spoilers, at all. I feel due to that, this review might just be me telling you how much I enjoyed this film, and to go and watch it, and then to go and Google and Youtube it... That is literally what I have been doing, reading little easter eggs and watching videos basically all with the same titles, "Breaking down Us", or "Things you might have missed in Us". And honestly, I am loving life. To look at, this film is class, and it's scary, when you watch it the first time round, that's what it is, with an added twist. But when you look into it, it is so much more than that, so much more. To the point I am not giving this film enough credit by not mentioning it all, but I can't due to not wanting to spoiler it. Just decided, I am going to do two reviews, spoiler free, this one, and filled with spoilers, my next one! Done. This film is great, I was scared, not to the point I couldn't sleep, but I did make sure all the doors and windows were locked a few times...
I would say I liked it so much, it could be in my top five faves... You need to see it. Better than Get Out? That's hard. Both are very smart and Jordan Peele is a genius, but maybe a little bit, only because this one actually made me nervous, and Get Out didn't really... Now, go and watch it, and come back and read my filled with spoilers review, with all my thoughts, when it is up! GO NOW.
