BEWARE THE MOON REVIEWS
![]() Ah, Wish Upon, you were literally everything that I thought you would be. Simple as anything, simple as pie. "A teenage girl discovers a box that carries magic powers and a deadly price for using them." I watched this with my friend while on a mini break to Bath, and his opinion on it was that it was a "teen movie but with a drama/thriller undertone and a bit of horror". I agree that it is a teen movie, but I feel it's more horror than drama, I was excited to watch it so I was wanting and pushing for more horror! Wish Upon is a fun film, and I know that makes it sound like it's a bad film, but stick with me, it's not that bad. It's fun and simple to watch and has a very simple story to follow. What is there to hate?! If you want to watch something and literally can open your skull up and take your brain out, this film is for you. It won't really stand the test of time, in my opinion, but for an evening, great, perfect. I liked the simple story and I liked the deaths and the fact that when the box played, someone diesssssssssssss. Ohhhhhhh! ![]() Know what else I love in horror films, stupid characters! Stay with me now. Stupid characters can make an alright film pretty fun. This is an alright film, as I said before, it's simple and it's fun, and it has one of the most stupid characters - EVER. Clare, dear Lord Clare, you are kind of stupid but also ballsy. Every time a wish is granted, something bad happens to someone else, first time this happens, it's not something you would immediately think a magic box did - because it is so damn ridiculous as an idea. So when something bad happens after a wish, Clare doesn't really put two and two together - fair enough - but after it happens a few times and she is even warned after the box is translated, well, what can I say? She just keeps making those damn wishes, just keeps making them, she listens to the warnings and ignores them - SILLY CLARE. This led to a lot of shouting at the TV in a small B and B and a lot og tutting at how stupid she is... Fun times. Wish Upon might not be the greatest film ever, and it might seemed to be aimed at teens, such as Riverdale or one of those type of programmes, but it has an enjoyable feel to it. I don't regret watching it at all, and I would watch it again - not yet, but I would. To turn my brain off to, I would do it again.

First of all, I am petrified of watching horror movies. I used to love them when I was a little kid, but after watching too many horror movies, it became too much for me. However, because I love Joey King so much, I decided to give 'Wish Upon' a try and I loved it! It is not the kind of horror film full of jump scares. The plot basically revolves around a Chinese music box that Joey King's father, Ryan Philippe, found in a trash bin and decided to give to her as a gift. It turns out that the music box can grant seven wishes, but the catch is that for each wish, there is a horrible consequence. Watch the film if you are curious to find out about the consequences!
