mum and dad
Yet again, I got my parents to sit and watch another horror with me - this time, 47 Metres Down: Uncaged. "Four teen girls diving in a ruined underwater city quickly learn they've entered the territory of the deadliest shark species in the claustrophobic labyrinth of submerged caves."
Just an FYI here, we have all seen the first one, and enjoyed it. Enjoyed it but didn't love it as much as Deep Blue Sea... I have to say it! 47 Metres Down is not a bad film, but is 47 Metres Down: Uncaged? It's not awful but is definitely not that good. I feel they tried to use the whole 'big names in a film' to sell the film, but when I watch a shark film, I tend to watch it for the sharks and not for the big names. The big names in this film tended to be daughters of very successful actors - Foxx and Stallone - and then if you're a Big Fat Greek Wedding fan, like myself, John Corbitt. As I said, I don't really watch shark films for the actors, I love sharks and creature films tend to have some of the best deaths too.
There are some good deaths in Uncaged - it's normal name is too long to keep typing, so I am going to call it Uncaged from now on - some that come out of nowhere too, and I loved those. Some were deserved too - very deserved. I loved all the deaths. But that was about as far as my love for this film got to...
Uncaged just is not that good a film. It's alright. The group of friends kind of get themselves into all these trouble, and then pull everyone else down into it, and you don't really feel much sympathy towards them for that. It is pretty much all their fault. And the film is not good enough for you to really even care about the characters as a whole - I was pretty much on the sharks side...
Mum and dad felt the exact same way. Dad didn't like it much at all and was skipping in and out while watching it, where as mum was stressed but again, didn't really care about whether they lived or died.
As a whole, I preferred the first film, but Uncaged as still kind of fun - watch it if you want to watch some sharks kills.
Oh! And as I normally say, SHARKS ARE NOT LIKE THIS IN REAL LIFE. They are not the serial killers of the sea! I will be doing a TED talk about sharks soon over on my Youtube and Podcast...
Not just there to raise you, also fun to watch scary films with...
