No Escape

Now, I know this film is definitely, technically not a horror film or anywhere really near one - but it was just too damn good I couldn't not mention it at least. 'In their new overseas home, an American family soon finds themselves caught in the middle of a coup, and they frantically look for a safe escape from an environment where foreigners are being immediately executed.'
Before you make the same mistake I did, and almost turned watching this down because I felt it might too heavy for a Saturday night, (even though I found it and pretty much said it is meant to be good...), watch it! Do not think that it might be too heavy or anything of the such.

No Escape is a damn good film. Like it's a brilliant film, but sometimes you hate to be watching it - and I mean that in a good way of course.  This film is stressful and realistic. The whole story is on getting stuck in the middle of a war, where, if you're not one of them, they will kill you, and in recent times, this has been something that has come true.  And it is a horrifying thought, it's horrible that it happens but actually being there and being in it, well, you can't even really imagine.
No Escape puts  you in the middle of this all, and you feel so much dread the entire way through. From when Owen Wilson sees the first American slaughtered in front of him, you cannot relax. Deary me, it's brilliant.

As people may have guessed with where this review is on here, I did not watch No Escape on my own, oh no, everyone's favourites joined me for this banger of a film. And thumbs up all round, they loved this film just as much as me.
We have decided to take it in turns, choose a film every weekend, and watch at least one, and this was my choice thanks to Netflix and my weird memory of remembering someone mum knew once saw this and said it was good...

Dad liked it, couldn't really fault it. Mum liked it, again, couldn't really fault it, but she was very stressed out by it again - bless her. I think she almost pulled some hair out.. The things I make my lovely parents go through..
We all loved it, almost couldn't fault it, almost... One scene we all found a bit meh, but saying that, it was still an excited, not bored at all meh... What is that scene I hear you ask. I shall give you a clue, throwing children... If you have seen this film, you will know the exact scene I am talking about. At one point, Owen Wilson and his family become trapped and the only way of escape is getting off the roof of one building, to the roof of another. But how do they do this with two young children? Well, throw them across of course! Have your wife stand on the other building and literally just throw them to her like you would a rugby ball. I asked my dad if he would have been able to do this to me when I was around the same age as these kids, and he laughed. Laughed. Now, I was a huge child, but still, it is very very far fetched. Unless you train arms but chucking heavy items, this probably is not possible.. Or is you're The Rock.. He can do all.

No Escape is a brilliant film, so brilliant I had to mention it even though it's not a horror! It might have some far fetched scenes, but it's still entertaining and nerve-wracking as hell! Just see it, literally couldn't recommend this enough. Swear this is Pierce Brosnan Bond comeback though..
