mum and dad
Okay, so I know this is in Mum and Dad, but technically, it's Dad for about an hour and then Mum and Dad for twenty minutes. Mum was out for some of the evening which is sometimes a brilliant time for me and dad to watch a film. So, hello to Netflix. Straight away I go to the horror section, normally this does not work, my dad is not a fan of most horrors, especially on Netflix... But today, was different.
Up popped Cockneys Vs Zombies, and with a beautiful name like that who couldn't be intrigued, and, AND, it got four out of five stars on Netflix, now, we would have been silly to have skipped this, right? 'A gang of bank robbers fight their way out of a zombie-infested London.'
Already, it sounds amazing. And it is.
It starts out already hilarious, with some of the worst robbers trying to rob a bank, and with a cast of English actors, where you will find yourself saying "I recognise them", and going onto IMDB numerous times.
Now, remember, my dad is watching this with me, I am into this fully, I am loving this, he is liking it. How do I know this? He is laughing and not reading a newspaper or magazine. That is like his past time when something is on the tv, to read and watch, sometimes at the same time. Ladies, a man who can actually multitask, but back off, he is married, sorry.
He watched this like it was a code, like he had to really pay attention. And it's for a good reason, blink and you miss a funny moment. Whether it be a bad joke, or Honor Blackman and a whole load of OAPS attacking zombies..
And, another thing about this film; THE CHARACTERS KNOW WHAT ZOMBIES ARE AND HOW TO KILL THEM. Yes, they have actually seen horror films, unlike most film characters who seem to have literally no idea and walk into an early grave.
Bring on the load of zombie killing jokes, OAP jokes and pretty gory and tongue n' cheek moments - what is not to love?!
This is just an all round brilliant film, it's one of those films, because of the name and what it is about, you imagine watching paint dry to be more entertaining, but you would be wrong. So so wrong. I love this film, I would actually recommend it and not even if someone has a free evening. I would make sure they make time for this movie.
Forget Zombie Strippers, or Nazi Strippers, go straight to this... but then back to them, I would hate to stop people watching horror films..
Okay, so skip ahead in the film, when zombies have been killed in very bloody ways and a bus has been hot wired to pick up OAPS, and mother arrives home to see the final moments. And, shock horror, she likes it too. Actually, I expected her to like it more than my dad, as I said, he is more picky than mum. Mum loved watching OAPS take out zombies, and a bus traveling around London, picking up unexpected zombies on the way, this film was a hit is all I can say. And what better way to finish it off than with Chaz and Dave! Watch this film, if it is the last thing you do. You will die happy. I really can't praise this film more it seems... Ever seen someone racing a zombie with a zimmer frame? No, well you will now..
Not just there to raise you, also fun to watch scary films with...
